You will be greeted at the Tan Son Nhat airport and transferred to your hotel. You have much appreciated leisure time before private afternoon tour of Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon. It is the largest and busiest city in Vietnam with a population of 7 million people and much of daily life takes place on the streets, which are lined with shops, stall sand vendors with their wares spread out on the footpath. You will want to explore bustling Ben Thanh Market, the War Remnants Museum and the Reunification Palace. You will have an overnight stay in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Mekong Delta is the southernmost region of Vietnam and is often referred to as the rice bowl of Vietnam as it produces three crops of rice per year. The fertile Mekong Delta is also famous for its tropical fruits and flowers. The Delta area marks the end of a 4,500 km journey made by the Mekong River after having traveled through six countries. Traditional transportation in the Delta is by boat along a vast network of canals and channels. Boating along these canals and visiting the floating markets always proves to be a fascinating and rewarding experience for all visitors.
You will leave Ho Chi Minh City to head for lush My Tho, where you will cruise on a private boat through the green vegetation of the canals to an orchard. There, you will be treated to a delicious lunch in a local restaurant in the heart of the Mekong, complete with tropical fruits. You will also visit the snake farm, Dong Tam, which breeds snakes for, among other things, snake wine. You'll then head back to Ho Chi Minh City for an overnight stay.
You will transfer to the airport for a flight to Danang.
Upon arrival at Danang you will be greeted by our guide who will begin by escorting you on a tour of Danang City, including the Cham Museum where you can find out more about this ancient but advanced civilization.
After leaving Danang you will make your way to the Marble Mountains, where there will be the opportunity to climb to the top and admire the temples that have a commanding view over the surrounding district. You will continue to the delightful town of Hoi An, approximately 30 km away. Once in Hoi An, you will check into your hotel and have some free leisure time before an overnight stay in Hoi An.
You will next head to Hue city continue our trip by visiting Imperial Citadel and the Forbidden Purple City, created in the 19th century for the Emperors of the Nguyen Dynasty. The next experience is exploring the local life by visiting Dong Ba market
If time permits you can pass by “the Quốc Học of Huế” the famous school in Hue and see female student in Ao dai traditional dress and hear the guide talk about this famous school. At around 05:00 pm, the tour will come to the end and you will be transferred to Train Station to take overnight train to Ha Noi
This full day tour will take you around Hanoi's most interesting sights, including the Ho Chi Minh Complex, Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and his Stilts House, the Presidential Palace, the One Pillar Pagoda nearby and the Old Quarter, known for its maze of 36 streets and former craft guilds.
Also on the tour, you'll find the Lake of the Restored Sword, Ngoc Son Temple, the Temple of Literature, peaceful West Lake, lover's street Thanh Nien, the sedate Tran Quoc Pagoda, Quan Thanh Temple and one of the city's best museums, either the History Museum or the Ethnology Museum.
You will stay overnight in Hanoi.
After breakfast we journey east to Vietnam's greatest natural wonder, Ha long Bay. We board our beautiful traditional wooden junk and spend a full day and night cruising the bay's 3000 magnificent limestone islets. In the evening when the boat is anchored in the middle of the stunning lagoon, we enjoy a wonderful dinner and later there is opportunity for an evening swim from the side of the boat. Kayaks are also available if specified at time of booking. Overnight on luxurious boat.
Wake up to fresh coffee and take a small boat to a nearby sandy cove beach for an opportunity to relax and have a morning swim. For a great photo opportunity it is well worth walking up to the hill top pagoda which overlooks the entire Ha long bay. Afterwards we return for a wholesome breakfast before cruising back to Ha long City. En route the junk weaves through strange-shaped rock formations that invite comparisons from fighting cocks to mystical dragons!
