Vietnam is a country various transports, there are many options to get around Vietnam: airplane, bus, train, motorbike, private transport, bikes. If you are planning to travel to Vietnam, then knowing about transportation in Vietnam is a necessary thing to consider.
Flight around Vietnam (domestic flight): travelling by plane is always a fastest choice, but you will miss the beautiful countryside, be less likely to meet other Vietnamese people and pollute the environment, so unless you have a good reason to we would normally recommend travelling by train. 
Travel by bus: The buses in Vietnam can run almost everywhere with the exception of the mountain areas. Some buses have good condition and night buses are comfortably adapted for lying.
Travel by train: The trains in Vietnam have been extensively renovated and are relatively safe and cheap option when it comes to transportation in Vietnam. In general, Vietnamese trains are clean but too not fast. Some are not comfortable with hard seats
Cruise and boat: Ferries and hydrofoils have fixed prices, but expect to pay more for the privilege of being a foreigner on smaller local boats around the Mekong Delta and to places like the Cham Islands. Once in Vietnam, the place you’re most likely to get on the water is Ha long Bay, where dozens of private vessels ply the waters, taking tourists to see the magnificent karst island formations. Day trips and overnight excursions are possible with a full range of ships, from bare-bones to luxurious. 
Private car: Car rental is a good alternative when tourists want to visit any place they like or is not easily accessible to the public vehicles. The main advantages of car rental could include convenience, independence, and flexibility because you could create your personal schedule.
Bicycle: Bicycle is the simplest vehicle of transportation in Vietnam. Many foreign tourists said that this is the only vehicle that they would be able to operate in Vietnam when they were visiting this country for first time. Bicycle will give you an exciting experience, and enjoy the nature environment.
