The Mekong Delta in southern Vietnam is a vast maze of rivers, swamps and islands, home to floating markets, Khmer pagodas and villages surrounded by rice paddies. It is an out-standing place thanks to the beautiful sightseeing as well as special traditional local culture. 
The weather in Mekong Delta is quite consistent with 2 major seasons a year (dry and rainy season) with the average temperature of 30 degrees Celsius. However, the difference between these two seasons is not significant. 
In general, with a comfortable weather all year around tourist can visit Mekong Delta at any time in a year. Each season in Mekong Delta is unique in its own way that will make tourists amazed every time coming to this region.
The first place to visit is My Tho, board a private long-tail boat for a cruise on the Mekong River. On the boat ride, your local guide delves into the history of the region and steers you to an island with lush tropical gardens. Sample tropical fruit before continuing to another island in the Mekong Delta, where your guide will share stories of the area's cottage industry, coconut candy. Visit a coconut candy factory, where you'll hear the history of the industry and watch how this confection is made.
Most of the area in Mekong Delta is covered with many small rivers which are the distributaries of Mekong River. Therefore, the life in this region is very unique and different from other places in Vietnam. In Mekong Delta, the local people sell and exchange merchandises directly on water, which was usually called as floating market. Besides, this delta is also famous for its delicious tropical fruits, beautiful nature as well as rich culture.
