BA BE NATIONAL PARK

Ba Be National Park located in Bac Can Province, covers more than 23,000 hectares boasting waterfalls, rivers, deep valleys, lakes and caves set amid towering peaks.
Highlights of Ba Be National Park are peaceful boat trips on the lake, visits at nearby tourist spots such as Puong Cave and Dau Dang Waterfall and trekking to minority villages.
Ba Be Lake lies in the middle of the vast limestone mountain range of Ba Be National Park with large and small islands of limestone rising out of the water, many of which can be explored as you kayak around.
Ba Be Lake is one of the most unique and beautiful natural tourist attractions in Vietnam. The lake was formed by the geological structural changes millions of years ago that made limestone mountains and caves.
From Ba Be Lake, tourists can also visit other neighboring attractions such as Dau Dang Fall, Puong Cave and Tien Pond.
Ba Be is also home to some ethnic minority communities. There is a large Tay population in Ba Be who made their living farming and fishing in the park and mostly lived in traditional wooden stilt houses. This culture has been well preserved by the Tay community and can be seen throughout the park. There are also many local legends surrounding the various places throughout Ba Be which add to the magic of the park.
With further exploration of Ba Be National Park, tourists will also begin to discover some of the villages in the region. This is best done by joining one of many trekking tours which can be arranged, as they include a guide that will introduce you to the people of the various ethnic communities that are resident here.
The best time to visit Ba Be Lake is during the dry season (winter and spring). In the wet season, the lake takes up water from the Nang River and regularly flooded.
One of the best ways to experience the incredible beauty of Ba Be is from water from here you can explore the rivers, lakes and caves that make up this area of stunning beauty. You can take a boat trip on one of the small boats to take in the highlights of Ba Be or, if you are feeling more adventurous, you can take a kayak and explore the area. Kayaking has the added benefit of being able to get closer to nature which will give you a more intimate experience.
